Description of Facility

Spalding County Correctional Institution opened in 2001, and is a mixed custody facility that houses both minimum and medium security inmates. The maximum capacity of Spalding County Correctional Institution is 384. Offenders are housed in six open dormitories. While incarcerated residents can participate in work programs providing janitorial services, building maintenance, and provide a labor force for the public works department, water authority, and animal control.
