Jailfo.com was founded in 2011 as a resource dedicated to assisting family and friends of inmates in navigating the complexities of having a loved one incarcerated. We understand that it can be overwhelming to comprehend the rules and procedures involved in maintaining communications with an inmate, whether it be through phone calls, letters, or visits.
Our platform aims to facilitate easy connections between individuals and their incarcerated loved ones through a range of services. Users can engage with our knowledgeable staff and supportive community to address any questions or seek guidance from those in similar circumstances. We help those with incarcerated family members and loved ones maintain communication, and easily understand the complexities of incarceration.
For over a decade, Jailfo.com has provided a comprehensive insight into the various aspects of inmate communication and support, including visiting hours, visitor applications, inmate mailing addresses, how to send money to an inmate, and more. Our commitment is to offer accurate and up-to-date information for all correctional facilities, with daily updates and a dedicated team ready to assist users with their inquiries.
What makes Jailfo.com unique is its editorial process. Information is triple verified, once during the compiling process from all 50 department of corrections websites, a second time by our staff who calls the facility directly to ensure accuracy of the information, and third by our community, who post changes to policy and visiting hours almost instantly, it is then moderated by our staff to again ensure no errors.
To get started select the state your inmate is incarcerated in, then select the facility to view it's profile.

About the Team at Jailfo.com:
Jailfo.com was founded in 2011 by Michael Sterns, a CUNY student of John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Originally built as an inmate mailing address database, Jailfo.com has expanded through the years to be the largest and most accurate prison visiting hours database available online. Additionally, Jailfo.com now maintains a database of visiting rules and procedures, physical and mailing addresses, phone and fax numbers, and provides a community feature which allows users to interact with one another and discuss the facility their loved one is incarcerated in. Strong moderation by our staff ensures all information is accurate including work by our Correctional Liason Clive Parkner.
The authors, curators, and moderators of this site are current and former criminal justice and law students who have an expertise in the field of criminal justice. Our staff share the common goal of providing reliable, up-to-date information to families and communities, while equipping users with the knowledge they need to navigate the complexities of the prison and jail system. Many of our team members have had first hand experience of having a loved one incarcerated, and saw the need for easily accessible information. Additionally, Jailfo.com utilizes first person experiences from those who have been incarcerated, giving a perspective and insight only available to someone who has been on the inside.
Where does all this information come from?
