Inmates in Georgia are allowed to receive mail. In order to send correspondence to inmates in Georgia you'll need to know the following:
- The inmate's Full name and GDC ID Number. You can find this information by doing an inmate search.
- Your full name and return address must be on the envelope.
Inmates may receive the following:
- Letters
- New soft cover books from the publisher, or approved retailer
- New magazines and newspapers sent directly from the publisher
- Publications cannot contain nudity or present a danger or security/safety issue to the prison
All mail sent to an inmate must have the following:
- Inmate's Full Name
- Inmate's GDC ID Number
- Inmate's Mailing Address
- The full name and address of the sender
Sending Quarterly/Seasonal Packages to Georgia Inmates
You can send care packages through the Union Supply Direct website.
These packages can contain clothing, electronics, and more.
You must order by the seasonal deadline, otherwise you must wait for the next quarter to order.
If the inmate is in a state prison the package must not exceed $100 or 15lbs. Probation detention center inmates package must not exceed $50 or 7lbs.
