Description of Facility

Northeastern Correctional Center is a minimum security pre-release facility that houses up to 304 adult males. Because this is often the last stage of an inmate's incarceration, there is no security fence around the compound. Additionally, inmates are able to work on a cattle operation located on facility grounds and at the Fife and Drum Restaurant. The restaurant is an extension of the culinary arts program provided to inmates at North Eastern Correctional Center, and is open to the public.

Visiting Hours & Information

In order to visit an inmate in Massachusetts you must do the following:

  • First, request the inmate add you to their prospective visitors list.
  • Next, complete a Massachusetts inmate visitors application. The application is also available in Spanish.
  • Complete and sign the form, then mail the application back to the facility your inmate is located in.
  • You will be notified of the status of your application, approved or denied.
  • Once approved you should familiarize yourself with the rules/dress code.
  • When attending a visit, you must provide a valid government issued photo identification such as a driver's license or passport.

Important things to remember when visiting an inmate at Northeastern Correctional Center:

  • Visitors are allowed on the property 30 minutes prior to the visit.
  • Visits are limited to four adults, no limit to the number of children but the visitor must be able to supervise them at all times or the visit will terminate.
  • Inmates cannot visit during scheduled work time or during programs.
  • You and your vehicle may be searched, weapons are prohibited from being on facility grounds including in your vehicle.
