Massachusetts Treatment Center specializes in the housing and treatment of inmates who require sex offender treatment and those who have been civilly committed by the courts and were determined to be sexually dangerous. These populations are housed separately from one another.
Massachusetts Treatment Center is a medium custody prison and is comprised of four housing units, with six man rooms, and contain convicted offenders who require sex offender treatment. Additionally, a restrictive housing unit can hold up to twelve inmates. Those who were deemed to be sexually dangerous are housed in single and double celled rooms.
Programs available to inmates at Massachusetts Treatment Center include substance abuse treatment assisted by medication, sex offender treatment, and religious services. Vocational studies include learning Microsoft Office, various building trades, horticulture, and food service training (ServSafe).
