Gwinnett County Correctional Institution opened in 2002 and is a minimum security prison. This facility can house up to 512 male inmates in eight dormitories. While incarcerated inmates can participate in work programs that provide multiple services to the surrounding community government agencies like the road department. Counseling services include stress management and life skills courses, and substance abuse treatment as well as group therapies like alcoholics and narcotics anonymous.
