Appling Integrated Treatment Facility

The Appling Integrated Treatment Facility opened in 2006, and is a medium security facility. It aims to reduce substance abuse and crime by addressing the root cause. The program includes cognitive-behavioral substance abuse treatment which is changing addiction patterns through mental health. This is accomplished through a nine-month residential program targeting high-risk offenders with a history of abusing substances. The Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Program focuses on changing offenders' attitudes and motivations through environment and work ethic, addressing the needs of probationers, and decreasing the likelihood of re-offending. Ware State Prison hosts this facility, offering housing in four dormitories with 50 beds each and four cells for isolation or segregation. The facility provides a range of medium security programs, including academic courses such as Adult Basic Education and General Education Diploma Preparation, counseling services like RSAT (SPECTRUM) and Re-Entry programs, recreational activities, religious services, and vocational training in various fields such as barbering, food preparation, maintenance, and office administration.
