Western Correctional Institution

Maryland Department of Corrections requires all visitors have an approved visiting application on file prior to attending a visiting session.  Start the process by doing the following:

• Complete a Maryland Visitors Application. You must request this from the inmate, Maryland DOC does not make this available online.
• Complete, print, sign and submit the application back to the inmate.
• It will be up to the inmate to inform you of your visitation status, approved or denied.
• Once you are approved, you can schedule to visit your loved one (see below).

Western Correctional Institution Visiting Hours:
Visits are by scheduled appointment only, up to 7 days in advance, scheduling closes three days before the visit.

General Population Visits:
Conducted every other weekend
Saturday and Sunday
8:30am-11:30am (registration begins at 8:15am)
12:00pm-2:30pm (registration ends at 1:30pm)

Administrative Segregation Visits:
Every other Saturday
8:30am-11:30am (registration begins at 8:15am)

Disciplinary Segregation Visits:
Every other Saturday
12:00pm-2:30pm (registration ends at 1:30pm)

Housing Unit 4 Visits:
Every other Saturday
8:30am-11:30am (registration begins at 8:15am)
12:00pm-2:30pm (registration ends at 1:30pm)

Protective Custody Visits:
Every other Sunday
8:30am-11:30am (registration begins at 8:15am)
12:00pm-2:30pm (registration ends at 1:30pm)

Important things to remember when visiting an inmate at Western Correctional Institution:

• A valid government issued photo ID is required in order to visit.
• A maximum of four visitors total per visit (up to three minors).
• Visits are a maximum of 60 minutes in duration, but may be shortened if the visiting room becomes crowded.
• In-person visits are conducted every other weekend.
• You must contact the inmate to learn of their approved time slot for visits.
• Your visit will terminate if you need to use the restroom, be sure to use it before your visit (this includes children).

Maryland Video Visitation
Video visitation is provided through Microsoft Teams. In order to participate in video visitation you must fill out a video visitation acknowledgement form. This is a free service available on android and iphone.

General Population Video Visitation:
By appointment only
Between 6:00pm-10:00pm
Mondays are for housing unit 3
Tuesdays are for housing unit 2
Wednesdays are for housing unit 1
Thursdays are for housing unit 4 and 5 general population
Fridays are for protective custody inmates

Administrative segregation video visits are by appointment only on Mondays 8:50am-1:30pm.
