Phoenix Complex is comprised of multiple units. Alhambra, Flamenco, and Aspen are some of the main units that house offenders. This facility acts as a reception center completing the intake process for many of the male inmates in the state. Inmates will arrive from the jail they were first detained and undergo a medical check. A mental health assessment and initial classification are completed.
Inmates can take educational courses to earn a GED and High school diploma, utilizing the Phoenix Success Academy. Programs at Phoenix Complex include multiple self help groups such as art therapy, book clubs, self esteem group, anger management, and interpersonal relationship tolerance groups. Each of these programs are designed to help aid inmate's in their rehabilitation.
