Arizona State Prison Complex Lewis is located in Buckeye Arizona and is comprised of eight units, Bachman, Barchey, Buckley, Eagle Point, Morey, Rast, Stiner, and Sunrise. These units vary in custody levels, ranging from minimum security to maximum security. In addition the Sunrise unit houses a juveniles.
Treatment is available through a variety of programs including, substance abuse treatment, alternatives to violence, re-entry programs, and group sessions like Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous. Basic adult education courses and the ability for inmates to earn a GED exist at Lewis. Vocational and certificate programs at this facility include Automotive, and building technology.
Bachman Unit, works with the Arizona Correctional Industries, which has an agreement between the surrounding communities and businesses including Continental Tire, Swift trucking, Arizona Department of Transportation, Playcraft trailers, and Hickman's egg farm. Inmates provide labor and services to these companies at a reduced cost.
