Situated in Southeast Alaska, Ketchikan Correctional Center first opened in 1983 and has a maximum capacity of 67 offenders. Due to it being utilized as a booking facility in addition to holding long term inmate, Ketchikan Correctional Center houses all custody levels and both male and female inmates.
This facility has a reputation for being extremely clean, secure, and orderly and is comprised of celled housing units and dormitory units. Most inmates at this facility are given both programming assignments and work detail.
