Description of Facility
Waiawa Correctional Facility is a minimum security prison located in Waipahu Hawaii. This facility has the capacity to house 334 male inmates. Offenders are required to participate in education programs or substance abuse treatment programs. Waiawa Correctional Facility provides inmates the opportunity to earn an associate of arts degree, additionally offenders can gain vocational skills in working as a heavy equipment operator, in food services, farming, landscaping, and janitorial services.
Offenders incarcerated in Hawaii prisons are allowed to receive unlimited correspondence through the mail. Legal and Privileged mail should be sent directly to the legal mailing address above. All personal mail should be sent to the inmate mailing address.
Inmates incarcerated in Hawaii have access to telephones during assigned times. Offenders have several pay options for their telephone calls including collect, prepaid, and using a debit card. You must be on the inmates telephone list, which they will setup during intake. Inmates are allowed up to ten active phone numbers on their list at any given time.
Hawaii Department of Corrections allows anyone on the inmate's approved visitors list to send them money. Inmates can use these funds to purchase an assortment of items from the commissary including telephone time, various premium features on their tablet, food, stamps, and hygiene items.

All visitors must be on the inmate's approved visitation list before they can attend a visitation session. Do not attempt to attend a visit without being on the approved visitation list you will be rejected.
