St. Clair correctional facility is a maximum security prison that houses 1047 male inmates. This facility first began housing inmates in 1983. This facility provides medical and dental care through the infirmary on contract with a private medical contractor.
Located on the 600 acres of St. Clair correctional is the Alabama Correctional vehicle restoration, and a chemical plant. A partnership with Gadsden State Community College provides academic and vocational courses for inmates at St. Clair.

Visiting occurs on Saturdays and Sundays in two blocks, first from 8am-11am and again from 12pm-3pm. Inmates are allowed one visit per week, but the day and time always changes because all inmates have rotating visiting schedules. You should contact the inmate directly by telephone or letter to get their visiting schedule. You can also get the current schedule by contacting the facility and giving the inmates first and last name.
