Salinas Valley State Prison is a multi-security level facility that houses level I, III, and IV inmates. Designed for a capacity of 2,242 inmates the average daily population sits well over 3,000. Salinas Valley State Prison is comprised of multiple sub facilities named A, B, C, D, M, and the minimum support facility.
Inmates can participate in adult basic education classes, earn a GED, and take computer literacy courses, which allow certifications in basic computer programs.
