Roederer Correctional Complex opened in 1976, and is located in LaGrange Kentucky, part of Oldham County. It serves the department of corrections in several ways, primarily by acting as an intake assessment and classification center that processes all adult males in the state (except for Death Row inmates). The prison is also home to over 100 inmates who provide support services for the facility in areas like laundry, maintenance, legal aid office, grievance office, and food services. Roederer Correctional Complex also provides a substance abuse treatment program that treats both incarcerated inmates and those on parole supervision. Roederer Correctional Complex can house up to 1,238 inmates. GED courses are available at this prison as well as vocational classes in horticulture and farming.

Inmates incarcerated in Kentucky are allowed to receive correspondence through the mail via United States Postal Service (USPS). In order to send them mail you will need to know their current location and identification number. You can find these by doing a Kentucky inmate search.
Always include the following on the envelope:
- The inmate's First and Last name

Inmates in Kentucky are allowed to receive the following through the mail:
- Letters - inmates can have up to 10 letters in their possession.

Sending Monthly Holiday Care/Food Packages
Kentucky inmates who have completed the intake process and 60 days at their new location are allowed to receive care packages through Union Supply Direct. These packages contain food, snacks, drinks and hygiene items. You will need to know the inmate's DOC number, which can be found by utilizing the inmate search on this page. Inmates are allowed the following:
- Three property orders per calendar quarter
- Unlimited food orders, but a maximum of $125 per quarter

Before visiting an inmate in Kentucky, you must be on the inmate's approved visitors list. To start the approval process, follow these steps:
- All prospective visitors are required to fill out a Kentucky visiting information form.
- Complete, print, sign and mail the application back to the warden's office of the institution.

Dress Code and Visiting Rules

- No hoodies
- Shirts must be able to be tucked into pants/skirts

Kentucky Video Visitation
Video visitation is contracted through Securus Technologies. Video visits are 25 minutes long and must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance through the Securus Technologies website.
