North Idaho Correctional Institution is located in Cottonwood Idaho. This facility originally served as a former military outpost used for radar purposes. Currently this facility houses up to 428 adult male inmates. Most of the inmates at this facility are being incarcerated with the purpose of being rehabilitated and possibly released for probation. Inmates who qualify for early release/probation will display a positive attitude and participate in programs and evaluations at the institution.
North Idaho Correctional Institution often receives inclement weather conditions, visitors are encouraged to dress warm in case they must wait in their vehicles. It is one of the few facilities that will allow you to dress in multi layers. Each piece of your clothing may be subject to a thorough search because of this.
