Madison Correctional Facility opened in 1989, originally as a male work camp. In 2004 this facility switched to housing female offenders. Madison Correctional Facility has a maximum capacity of 910 and houses females in dorms. This prison also operates a work release program for up to 72 inmates. Work release helps acquaint and prepare residents for their re-entry into the community, and can give the inmates vital skills to increase their success.
