The Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex is a medium to maximum security prison for male and female juvenile offenders. The facility is comprised of the East campus which is reserved for male inmates, and the West campus designed for female offenders. Additionally, this institution has a reception and diagnostic unit which is where all juveniles, male and female, enter the correctional system. The Diagnostic unit is pivotal in determining the proper treatment and care for each individual. Currently the Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex can house up to 235 residents.

In Kansas juveniles are allowed to send and receive mail from :
- You will need to know the residents full name and DOC number.
You can find the inmate's DOC number by searching the Kansas inmate database, but they will not have records of juveniles, get this information from your incarcerated loved one through a letter and keep it somewhere safe that you can reference in the future. - Always include your full name and return address on the envelope and on the letter (include the inmate's information on the letter as well).
Inmates in Kansas may receive the following through the mail:
- Letters
- Photos - can receive up to 5 photos per envelope, maximum size is 6"x9". Instant/polaroid photos are not allowed. No nudity, guns, drugs, alcohol, or gang related symbols can be in the photos.
- Do not send laminated cards, homemade cards, anything with stickers, or glue.
All mail sent must have the following:
- Inmate's Full Name
- Inmate's DOC Number
- The mailing address
- The full name and address of the sender

Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex allows residents to make outgoing collect calls and pre-paid calls to anyone on their pre-approved list. The telephone provider is ICSolutions (1-888-506-8407). ICSolutions provide you the ability to purchase pre-paid phone minutes for your inmate. Calls are limited to 15 minutes in duration.

Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex only allows you to send money to an inmate by money order. Residents of the Juvenile Correctional Complex can receive funds in two ways:
- By Mail: Send funds using a money order.
- Money order should be payable to the inmate's full name and their ID number. You must also include the sender's name and address.
- Do not include any other correspondence with the money order.

To access details about an inmate, such as their ID number, current whereabouts, and sentencing details, you can utilize the Kansas inmate database. This database does not carry information on juvenile offenders.
Anyone planning on visiting a juvenile at Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex must be on the approved visitors list before they can visit. Prospective visitors should begin the process by doing the following:
- All visitors 18 and older, are required to fill out a Kansas application for visiting privileges form IMPP 10-113D. Kansas also provides a copy of the visiting application form in spanish.
- If you are visiting with a minor you will need to fill out an affidavit granting visiting rights. You will need to provide a copy of the child's official birth certificate.
- Complete, print, sign and mail the application back to the inmate.
- Once you are approved, it is mandatory for visitors to register through the ICSolutions website. After you are registered you will be able to schedule a visit.
- All visits must be registered.
- Scheduling of visits will close 72 hours prior to the start of the visiting week.
Important things to know when visiting Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex:
- You must have a valid government issued photo ID with you in order to visit.
- You will exchange your ID for a visitors badge.
- A quick hug and at the beginning and the end of the visit are the only allowed personal contact.
- You can have up to $10 in cash or coin to purchase items from the vending machine. You may not give any money to your incarcerated loved one.
- No cell phones, pagers, cameras, or electronics of any kind. Secure these items in your car, or in a visitation locker if available.
- No tobacco products or lighters
- No weapons
- No pets
- No drugs or alcohol
- No outside food or drinks allowed
- Vehicles should be left locked with windows up

Dress Code and Visiting Rules
- No see through, fishnet, or sheer clothing
- No halter tops, no tube tops, no tank tops
- Undergarments must not be showing
- No braless attire
- No shorts, skirts, or dresses that are shorter than three inches above the crease on the back of the knee
- No flip flops, sandals, open toe shoes, or bare feet
- No clothing that reveals the midriff or shoulders or is low cut
- No clothing that reveals cleavage
- No hats, sunglasses, watches, or Fitbits
- No clothing that contains profanity, or be symbolic of drugs or gangs, sexual symbols, or contain offensive or threatening language/images are prohibited
- No clothing that promotes alcohol or tobacco
