Located on a vast 8,200 acres, G.K. Fountain Correctional Facility first began receiving inmates in 1928, and today houses 1270 maximum security male inmates. The facility itself is named after it's first warden Green Kelley.
Agricultural trade programs for inmates are provided through the Jefferson Davis Community College, which allows inmates a chance to work with cattle and develop agricultural skills. Other vocational classes are taught in conjunction with the Ingram State Technical College which provides inmates with foundational skills in welding, barbering, carpentry, HVAC, and automotive body repair.
